Skagit County Farm Bureau’s 1st Annual Summer Cookout

On Friday, July 19, the Skagit County Farm Bureau hosted its first-ever Summer Cookout at the Skagit Valley Grange on Cook Road. The event brought together members, partners, and local agriculture supporters for a relaxed evening of food, conversation, and community.

Attendees were served hamburgers, hotdogs, and strawberry shortcake — the dessert generously donated by Sakuma Bros. Farms using locally grown berries. The evening also featured line dancing, which gave members a chance to connect in a fun and informal way.

A new Blackstone griddle was raffled off, thanks to a generous donation from WCI, drawing strong interest and closing the night with a bit of excitement. We also partnered with the Cattlemen’s Association, whose involvement helped make the event possible.

The cookout was part of our broader effort to bring more value to our members and strengthen engagement within the local agricultural community. With strong turnout and positive feedback, we plan to make this an annual tradition.

Thanks to everyone who attended, donated, or helped make the evening a success. We look forward to continuing this momentum with more opportunities to gather, listen, and work together to support Skagit agriculture.
